Caving Trip
G Creek Cave, TN
January, 2003

This trip doubled as Cold Weather camping and caving. It started on Friday, a day that when down in the record books in Tennessee. It was the coldest day in six years and we were experiencing it first hand.

Caving in the winter is great. You gain a true understanding of how you can survive in a cave in the winter. Of course we did not sleep overnight in the cave, we were however courteous guest to the resident bats that were hibernating. The cave was a balmy 52-54 degrees Fahrenheit while it was around 18 degrees outside.
